8/24/2026 – It feels like just a little while ago that I posted the words “I did my first harvest yesterday”, and this week we are preparing to do my last. The “we” part of that is new to me, but I have some temporary helpers due to a shoulder injury, so this year it is “we” instead of “I”. It has been a good honey year, with 7 harvests so far, and the 8th and last planned for Friday. Then things will slow down a bit, as we start the process of helping the bees get ready for winter.
Becky’s Birds and Bees is a small apiary business harvesting and selling local honey produced by bees raised in SE Michigan. I hope you will use my web site to learn more about me, the farm and beekeeping in general. I sell honey from a self service stand at the farm when the weather is warm enough to keep it out. I will also sell at 3 farmers markets, Dexter, Chelsea and Whitmore Lake.

If you are wondering about the ‘birds’ I also raise free range chickens and have added a handful of ducks, who are happily occupying my neighbors pond (with their permission, of course!) At this time I have enough established eggs customers to use all the eggs I am producing but occasionally a customer drops off, so if you would like to be on a waiting list, let me know.
